The quaint streets, the charming locals, the majestic landscapes—it was all just too perfect! I mean, who wouldn't fall in love with a place like that? As for changes, well, maybe they could add a few more unicorns roaming the streets? Just kidding! But seriously, I can't think of a single thing that needs changing. Lock Haven is pure magic!

Lock Haven has a lot to offer. There is the University, unique shops, places for exercise, and many choices of restaurants. Lock Haven university has all sorts of programs and classes for various degrees. The university is the center point of the city. The shops in Lock Haven are unique. Clothing, candy, furniture, and convenient stores line the Main Street of the city. Lock Haven has a lot of room for an active life style. It offers a paved path to walk alongside the river that is well lit for evening walks. Also, Lock Haven is home to multiple gyms that offer memberships. Being active is important to me and this city has plenty to choose from. There are so many restaurants to choose from. Italian, Mexican, Chinese, are just examples of what we have here. I have an overall positive experience living in Lock Haven.

I was born and raised in Lock Haven and lived the first 25 years of my life. My parents, brother and sister still live there. If you love the outdoors there is no better place on earth. It is very safe. Great police and great people. Penn State football is only 30 minutes away in State College. The little league world series is played 30 minutes away in Williamsport. The river is beautiful and many people walk it every morning. Lock Haven University is a wonderful small college in the area. (I personally graduated from there.) Philadelphia is 3 hours to the east and Pittsburgh is 3 hours to the west, so you can see the Eagles or Steelers or Pirates or Phillies in the same day. I have done so on many occasions.
For those who knock the schools...I have family who are teachers and I think they would strongly disagree with the criticisms of the school system.

Lock Haven is a beautiful area with rich history and a burgeoning downtown business scene, but it suffers from high poverty rates and less-than-wonderful public schools. Lock Haven is improving, but still flawed.

Lock Haven is a fine place. It's a small town. Lots of trucks, lots of hicks. It's not quite boring, but it isn't very interesting either. There's a Weis, a Dunkin', some banks, and a few local small businesses that have very good products. I would highly recommend the Pinch 'N' Poke for anyone interested in tattoos or piercings, and Momoyo Otsu for jewelry and women's clothing. There is also a really nice burger place on the main drag called Odd Fellas. My favorite thing about Lock Haven is driving around in the middle of the night when nobody is around. It's perfectly quiet and serene. There is also the Susquehanna River which is home to many community events, and it's great for swimming in the middle of summer.

There’s not much to do and no good restaurants. You have to travel like 30 minutes to have fun or eat good. It is overall safe though.

Lock Haven is a beautiful town, quiet, full of natural beauty, with a river running through. There are opportunities to get plugged into the community if you look for it. It is a great place to start a small business.

This is a very safe area. The only issues are the train running through town and with the fire station here there are lots of sirens.

I grew up in Lock Haven. It is a great place to live, very scenic and the individuals that live here are nice. However, I would like to see more diversity in the area and more opportunity regarding jobs.

I grew up in Lock Haven until about the age of 8 then my family and I moved to West Virginia. My family loved the area so much, so when my dad was offered another position at Lock Haven University, he immediately accepted it. Moving back to Lock Haven as a senior in high school was extremely difficult. We moved from a lively area, where there was a variety of things to do. In Lock Haven, there isn’t much to do other than catching a movie or going bowling. If you want to do something you have to travel for thirty minutes. The education isn’t prioritized by the teachers, I’m very thankful that I had a good education and dedicated teachers in West Virginia. It is a very safe and family friendly area. I would love to see it grow to be more teenage friendly, possibly more coffee shops or boutiques.

Lock Haven is a college town, so there's plenty of new people to meet, however, there is nothing really to do. Only a handful of bars that are nothing to brag about, a river that is usually too cold to swim in, no dance clubs, etc. Theres a wide variety of fast food restaurants and a quite a few small businesses owned locally. Theres a large selection of churches, schools, and stores.

I have lived in Lock Haven for two years now. I really enjoy living in this cute little town. I feel safe in this town. Another perk, is how the residents enjoy having the students from Lock Haven University here also. There are many things to do around this town.

I have lived in Lock Haven for 5 years now. It is a really nice place to live and everyone is so nice. I attend Central Mountain High School in Mill Hall and it is a really nice school. I have made friends here and I also play softball for the high school team. I know lots of people around Lock Haven and some of my relatives life here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I moved to Lock Haven 5 years ago for my fiancee job. There is a drug problem. I know that the drug problem is why there is crime in the city. The school system is the worse. To go anywhere beside Walmart or Weis you have to travel 45 mins. In the winter there is nothing to do. So you have to travel 45 mins just to have something to do. However if you are looking for low income housing Lock Haven has tons of it. Most of the city is low income housing. So it might be a good fit for people who are in need for help.

I like the small town vibe that it has to offer. There seems to be a prevalent issue with illegal substances that has currently negatively effected the culture of the town.

The town includes a state university that really livens the place. The town itself is quiet and a nice place to settle down. Cheap apartments to rent that are quite cozy. The culture is not very diverse, however, which can be a detriment to the population. There are many small shops within the town and it is a great place to start your own food business--except for maybe pizza! We have enough pizza places. Open a vegan shop and you'll be gold. A beautiful river runs through the town and everyone loves to walk on the river. There are always little events going on which adds to the community-feeling.

I moved to Lock Haven in the summer of 2016. I find it to be a safe town, which is important for a place to raise my son. I am currently a student at the local University and I am connected with local art organizations within the area, which is important for my current schooling interests.
