In its day, a series of houses were built on the seafront that today would be unthinkable, but even so this area is very authentic and not touristy. Their Houses are white with blue and sailor touches. Even, as you can see in the previous photo, there are several cave houses, something very typical of the Canary Islands.

Tufia, Site of Scientific Interest

You should know that Tufia beach, due to its uniqueness, is considered Site of Scientific Interest. As you can see in the photos, its cove is small. It is only about 40 meters long. The rest are rock formations where you can also sunbathe or contemplate the fishing boats and the landscape itself. Tufia and its seabed are one of the favorite places for travelers who want to practice diving in Gran Canaria. Keep in mind that the beach is black sand and, when the tide rises, there is hardly any space for towels, but next to the houses there is a kind of sidewalk where you can sit and/or lie down and wait for it to start to go down. If you go, Try to square it with low tide so that the enjoyment is greater.

You should know that in this place you will not find anywhere to buy food and drinks, so if you come to spend the day, remember to bring something to eat and drink with you. It is true that there is a house on the first line of the Tufia beach which apparently serves drinks to locals. We do not know for sure if he sells them and it would not be fair to say so, since it is prohibited because he does not have a license to do so. This house is right where there are two blue umbrellas. We believe that this place has already closed, it was recently in the news that they had been fined for selling food and drink without the corresponding hospitality license.

How to get to Tufia Beach

To access the beach, whether you come from the south or from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, you have to take the departure from El Goro (no. 13). Once inside you should look for the brown signage with the name Tufia. The sign is very small and perhaps not as visible as it should be, so drive slowly. Once you are on the road to Tufia you can't get lost and you will reach a fairly large parking lot next to the town. On the right you will find Tufia and on the left the unknown Aguadulce beach.
