Two things that work really poorly on LinkedIn:1) Expert Answers - these are occasional writing prompts on technical questions, with random people having taken up the challenge and writing their often misinformed answers in exchange for a little more career exposure. Can you offer a correction? No, you cannot, you can just sigh to yourself knowing other people are reading misleading content.2) Group Forums - These might've been great if more care had gone into getting the right people to create and moderate these, and in nudging people the right way to actively moderate them. Unfortunately, at least with the few forums I used to be part of (left all of them recently), either there is no moderation whatsoever so people post on completely unrelated things, the forum owner does nothing but pin one of their own posts at the top for some free self promo while doing nothing else, or both. And there's a certain class of people working for some marketing company that will only post links to some pseudo-educational site that wants you to pay for its lousy content. So they're basically useless, even if it might seem like a "Databases Group" or a "Particular Programming Language Group" on LinkedIn should be useful.LinkedIn as a whole isn't useless, but it has a lot of flaws and the above two would be really to fix, if they cared and could spare some time.

LinkedIn is not just for professionals. If you've ever heard otherwise, you’ve heard wrong.Let’s get it right: LinkedIn is for everyone. I repeat, LinkedIn is for EVERYONE.Whether you're a working professional, a college student, or a daydreamer, LinkedIn is the right place for you to learn. If life is a lesson, then LinkedIn is the book to learn from. Here’s how I discovered LinkedIn as my learning tool.I like reading books, but I wasn’t a passionate reader. I was more like someone who thought, "I won’t seek out books; let them come to me." In short, I was hesitant. And then, LinkedIn came to me.At first, I didn't understand what LinkedIn really was. I thought it was just a platform to find jobs. But, over time, I realized I was wrong. I found many great individuals on LinkedIn sharing their personal and professional experiences, which helped me a lot in developing my skills and personality.Among them, Rizwan Ramzan Ahamed and Rose M. stand out. Thank you for being there. We are all learners for life. There is always something new to learn. Let’s keep learning!P.S. I just found a random picture with a bag while scrolling through my gallery.

One of the things I love most about Scrimba is how they don't just teach you how to program and build web apps. They focus on job readiness as well!Michael Larocca's article on Scrimba's blog titled "How to use LinkedIn as a developer to get a job in tech" is packed with advice you can actually apply instead of surface-level tips that you probably already know.I've linked the article below, and I'll also share 3 more tips here:- Don't be afraid to share your side projects. It shows that you're actively learning + adding the #buildinpublic hashtag to your posts will invite supportive people to interact with you!- Engage with the tech community by sharing and/or commenting on posts related to your domain.- The "Featured" section is super important! Use it to showcase your best work.Share this advice with someone who needs help launching their tech career, and remember to keep your profiles updated!#techcareer #careeradvice #gettinghired

How to get "Community Top Voice Badges"A lot of people ask me about how to get the "Community Top Voice Badges" on LinkedIn. Honestly, it's not a big deal, and it doesn't give you any special benefits, but I'll explain it for your knowledge.First, you need to regularly open LinkedIn Learning at least once daily. Then, you need to give likes to the comments on articles by other people and also like the articles themselves.Keep doing this every day, and within a week, you'll get access to commenting. After that, you can start commenting on articles as you like.I got one of these badges just from a single comment. "I'm attaching the comment below for you guys."This badge doesn't do anything, but since people kept asking me about it, I thought I'd make a post for everyone.Thank you.

🌐 Navigating the world of social media can be overwhelming, but for me, LinkedIn has been a game-changer in both my personal and professional growth.Falling off the regular posting schedule on LinkedIn is easy; coming back is hard. Are you the same?I often get asked why I keep my profile active. The truth is, LinkedIn is my sole social/professional network. I find it more than just a platform; it's a learning hub where every scroll through the feed is an opportunity to grow.It also holds me accountable towards my goals. It's where I reflect on my daily achievements and plan my next steps. Why haven’t I finished my daily task React project yet? LinkedIn reminds me to ask these questions.I owe a lot to this platform. It's where I found invaluable advice on starting as a software developer, thanks to inspiring professionals like Matt Ehrlich 👨💻. It's where Cyril Khan offered spot-on CV guidance, and where Tiger Abrodi consistent posting and engagement inspired my own LinkedIn journey.🔄 LI is what you make of it. Use it wisely. What's your LinkedIn story? How has it influenced your personal or professional life? I'd love to hear from you.Grateful for the connections, learnings, and opportunities that LinkedIn has brought into my life. #LinkedInJourney #CareerDevelopment #Networking
