Downloading and Sharing Restrictions

Data, screenshots, reports, and other materials downloaded from the Bloomberg terminal should not, under any circ*mstances, be shared with individuals outside of NYU.If you have questions about whether a particular use is permitted, please contact usand we can advise.

Copying and Pasting Data into Excel

  1. Position your cursor at thecorner of a table.
  2. Press and hold the left click (notthe right click)and drag across the data you would like to copy.Bloomberg will automatically copy the text/data to your clipboard when you release the left click.
  3. In Excel, right click orpress ctrl + v to paste.
  4. If necessary, click on the "Data" tab on top of the ribbon and then "Text to Columns" and select "Fixed width" to finish formatting.

Taking Screenshots of the Interface

  • Click "Export" in the upper-right-hand menuand then "Grab Screen".
  • Use the command GRAB <GO> to send a screenshot via email.

Note: Not all screens can be "Grabbed" and some screens have custom export options.
