How do you download data from Bloomberg? ›

Place cursor at the corner of table in Bloomberg. Click and drag the data you would like to copy. Bloomberg will copy text/data automatically without Ctrl + C. In Excel, press Ctrl + V to paste the data.

The Daily API limit is 500,000 hits/per day and is reset at midnight. A “hit” is defined as one request for a single security/field pairing.

If you see the error message #N/A Review or #N/A Limit when extracting data from Bloomberg, it means the Bloomberg data download limit for the month has been used up at the terminal.

Step 1: Click on Spreadsheet Builder.

Step 2: Click on Historical Data Table then click on the Next button. Type the ticker symbol (SPX) in the All Securities box. Click on SPX Index to select the index. Click on the Next button.

#NA limit error occurs when the monthly data download limit has been reached for that particular Bloomberg terminal (not based on account). The limit will be reset on the first or second day of a new month.
